A Community Day Program

The Evanston Parks Foundation, in collaboration with Evanston community members, is seeking financial support for The Oasis Project, a new model of community day programming for young adults with disabilities within the Dr. Jorge and Luz Maria Prieto Community Center.

The Challenge:

Our community provides no post-high school day programs for young adults who have medical needs and developmental or intellectual disabilities. Programs like these are extremely rare elsewhere in our region.

We need a new model.

A Post-Graduation Desert

The Solution:

A community-based day program that serves young adults with disabilities and medical needs, regardless of financial means, through community integration, continuing education, peer group facilitation, therapeutic and social supports, and nursing care.
